Roger Gibson (Artist)
To list Roger's contribution to Diplocaulus, both strip and stripzine, merely as artist is an understatement.
Roger pulled Mike's fat out of the fire on a number of occasions by agreeing - or even volunteering - to assist with the art on Dip, sometimes at very short notice.
Roger also provided covers, as well as the artwork for a Doctor Who strip which was also included in the stripzine (but not shown here for copyright reasons).
But most importantly of all, Roger was the Central Mailer for the Amateur Press Association, of which Diplocaulus was a part, during the mid-80's. It was during this time that the APA reached a quarterly frequency, which meant that finally the lengthy Diplocaulus saga might actually see completion.
As part of the CM role, Roger sometimes ended up performing the editorial role on the stripzine, if various contributions were late on hitting the deadline, they would be sent directly to Roger, rather than via me, to compile.
For all of the contributors on this site the words "without whom" can be attached. But none more so than for Roger.
